Will certain foods turn semen reddish?

January 21, 2008
My question is can certain foods turn semen a reddish color? I noticed that once in a while after I eat beets or berries my cum looks like I have a little blood (but, not as red or thick) in it. Is this possible or normal after eating cranberries, raspberries, strawberries, or beets? Can certain foods make cum whiter like egg whites?—Anonymous
No, foods generally do not change the color of your semen. If you have reddish semen it is probably from traces of blood in it. Blood can enter semen through damage through a blood vessel during sex. As long as it clears up in a few days it is nothing to worry about.—Aaron Lawrence
