How clean is clean when preparing to be rimmed?

I have never really been into rimming or getting rimmed, but I met this guy that likes to do me. He told me to douche before we get together. I got one of those enema things and used that, but that agitates my system, so I mix it down with warm water. I usually do two or three shots of that mix. Then I shower, paying close attention to my crotch, "taint," and ass. How clean is clean enough for rimming? He smells like shit (literally) after he rims me when we go to kiss afterwards. I am just into the ride.
Generally speaking, an enema is totally unnecessary when it comes to rimming. Washing your asshole with soap and water is good enough, especially if you slide a soapy finger in and out of your hole until it comes out perfectly clean. An enema is used for cleaning deeper inside your body in areas a tongue cannot reach. It may help make fucking cleaner, but it does nothing for rimming.
Your complaint that your partner smells like shit after he rims you is totally in your head. The only way that he could smell like shit would be if it was smeared all over your ass, or at least there in residual form. If you are using soap and water to wash your asshole then there is no way he’s smelling like shit. If you’re still not comfortable kissing him after he rims you, that’s your decision to make. But understand that it is your decision not to do so, and is not because he smells bad.
However you handle your rimming, you’re using too much water in your enemas. An enema should be just a single shot of water, not two or three. Using too much water can cause it to trickle out during sex making an entirely new mess.
